Pontiac Chieftain

A while back, I posted a Blue Ford Fairlane that I found in Cleveland. This car was on the same lot, and although I didn’t enjoy shooting it as much as the Ford, I still dig how the shots turned out.

This is a first-generation Pontiac Chieftain. One of many cars that utilized the A-body, there’s a chance this car rolled off the line in Pontiac, but it was manufactured in various plants across the country.

Like the Fairlane next to it, I’m not sure why this car was left to rot. Some of the windows have been smashed, but most of the vehicle is intact. I’d imagine there isn’t much left under the hood, though. Regardless, it’s a bummer it’s sitting here in such rough shape.

Hopefully, someone snags it and uses it for parts, as a part of a restaurant or store, or takes better care of it than the current owners. There’s a station wagon version of the Chieftain that I’ve since fallen in love with and hope to see in the wild someday.
