Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale Brougham

There’s something special about when a sky-blue car rusts. I want to think there’s something deeper in it, but it’s probably because light blue and deep orange are opposite each other on the color wheel. Regardless of the reason, I can’t help myself whenever I see a rust bucket in sky-blue.

This is an eighth-generation Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale Brougham. The addition of the Brougham name arrived as a premium model in the late 70s and included more elegant seating.

The ninth-generation Delta 88 had a Brougham model, but the 10th-generation cut the name and would be the last that held the Delta 88 name. The ’99 model was the last, marking 50 years since its introduction.

Even in its rusty condition, this Oldsmobile has more style than most new offerings I see on the road. That’s just my opinion, though.
